Meet
Dr. Priya Pandit
Priya Pandit, PsyD
Following her induction into The International Honor Society in Psychology, Dr. Priya Pandit graduated from the University of Connecticut with her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. She then earned her Master’s of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and was a graduate of the inaugural cohort of the Doctorate of Psychology program, having earned her PsyD. Dr. Pandit received extensive training serving various populations including children, adolescents, families, college students, adults, and geriatrics in outpatient, in-home, residential treatment, university counseling, skilled nursing, and assisted living settings. Following completion of her post-doctoral training Dr. Pandit was awarded both her CT and NY License and is credentialed by the ASPPB to practice telehealth in participating PSYPACT states.
Dr. Pandit has worked with clients presenting with various concerns including adjustment, life transitions, depression, anxiety, and interpersonal relationship issues. She is versed in a variety of treatment techniques and interventions, believing in an integrationist approach to tailor to and best serve each individual. However, Dr. Pandit primarily focuses on client-centered, cognitive-behavioral, acceptance and commitment, and strengths-based approaches. As a woman of color, Dr. Pandit has developed an area of focus on matters of diversity and inclusion, exploring an individual’s cultural background as it relates to their presenting problem in treatment. She has given outreach presentations and trainings, been invited to speak on a podcast, and developed a group curriculum on such topics. Additionally, given Dr. Pandit’s Indian origin, she often incorporates Eastern mindfulness and meditation practices into her work.
