Chrystyl D. Tutt, PsyD
Dr. Chrystyl D. Tutt is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PSY#003022) who specializes in conducting psychological and psychoeducational evaluations of children, adolescents, and young adults. She also provides individual and family therapies for children, adolescents, teens and adults to address various concerns including ADHD, behavioral problems, learning difficulties, anxiety, depression, and adjustment issues. In addition, she offers educational consultation for families looking for placement in specialized, private school settings and advocates for children with special needs in the public school setting. Dr. Tutt is devoted to providing comprehensive psychological services to children, adolescents, and adults by offering evaluations as well as therapeutic services. Her psychoeducational evaluations are unique in that they not only examine a student’s intellectual potential, academic achievement, and processing abilities (e.g., visual perceptual, visual-motor, memory, attention), but also include an in-depth analysis of expressive and receptive language skills. When providing therapy, Dr. Tutt utilizes an integrative approach, combining a range of techniques including cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and family systems. She tailors the approach to best fit with each client’s personality and presenting issues to facilitate changes in mood and behavior. Dr. Tutt has a strong commitment to her clients and strives to provide a safe and nurturing environment where individuals can make changes that will enhance their lives.
Dr. Tutt has over 15 years of experience providing comprehensive psychological services to children, adolescents, and adults. She obtained her M.A. and Psy.D. degrees in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Child and Family Clinical Practice from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology and Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Duke University. She has had specialized clinical training in child psychology, psychoeducational testing, and family therapy. Dr. Tutt has extensive experience providing therapeutic and assessment services to preschool, school-aged, and college-aged students. At the Atlanta Speech School, The Walker School, and in private practice, she has counseled, evaluated, and provided school consultation and support services to hundreds of students from the greater Atlanta area as well as surrounding states. Because she has experience with multiple age groups and school settings, she is knowledgeable about the required disability documentation required from public schools, private schools, and the RCLD to determine eligibility for appropriate academic accommodations, and well versed in available support services.
